Paid MFT Internships at Thessalonika Family Services

by Ryokan College on February 28, 2012

Starting Salary: $42,000/year Full Time position

Employee Benefits: Medical/dental insurance, life insurance, paid sick leave, paid major holidays, and paid vacation.

Educational Qualifications: The individual must possess a Master’s Degree in a social science that will equip them to fulfill the clinical duties required of the position.

Thessalonika Family Services/Rancho Damacitas, a non-profit agency located in the Temecula valley, is dedicated to providing residential treatment for children, ages 6-17, who have been removed from their families as a result of abuse and neglect. In each of our group homes we provide a surrogate family environment which addresses children’s basic needs, provides critical emotional support, models healthy and caring family dynamics, and exposes the children to experiences at home and in the community that encourage personal growth.

The MFT Intern is responsible for providing oversight and direction regarding the individual needs and services plan for each child on their case load. The individual hired into this position will provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the assigned group home personnel regarding milieu dynamics and therapeutic strategies that will help guide the children on their own path of healing. Likewise, the MFT intern will provide both group and individual therapy to the children on their case-load as part of a comprehensive therapeutic response designed to successfully address the affects of trauma and abuse to which the children have been exposed.

This full time position provides the candidate a broad base of field related experience and training as well as the opportunity to accrue and receive free on site licensed supervision for all BBS hours required for licensure. We provide effective ongoing coaching and support to our MFT interns within a collaborative environment that we hope will empower them to discover and use their unique giftings, which, when matched with their leadership and clinical skills will bring healing and restoration to the lives of the hurting children we serve. A minimum 2 year commitment is required of this position.
